imageimageNewport! My favorite place to be on the East Coast. Mansions which were once Summer homes for the very wealthy line the famous Bellevue Ave. On the other side of town Colonial homes line the streets. Fishing, tour boats, and of course the yachts line the busy docks. The smell of seafood, steak, and money drifts along the sidewalks and many shops.  Blood Alley was once lined with taverns and pirates. It’s now called Brick Alley and has a great restaurant beside it.                                                                              I’ve been traveling to Newport since I was a little girl. The lure of the sea, the legends, the pirate tales, the shopping, dining, and of course the mansions always call me back.  For the first time I was able to see it at Christmas. The mansions were elegantly decorated. And Newport itself! Well, the atmosphere was even more exciting and fun!                             Merry Christmas to all who celebrate. To all who don’t Happy New Year.      Pictured above is the outside of The Marble House. The Breakers Mansion has a beautiful pointsettia tree!
